Stasia Lau is a Co-Founder and an Operating Director of the Ladder Society Enrichment Foundation. Stasia is born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and will be attending Western Canada High School in the fall of 2025, graduating in 2028 through the International Baccalaureate Program. The Ladder, a community driven, non-profit organization dedicated to assisting underserved youth through mentorship, sports workshops and uplifting the physical and mental health of disadvantaged minors. Living in Calgary, Stasia attended public schools and participated in community programs throughout the city. She played high level indoor and outdoor soccer, achieving multiple City Championships and an avid squash player before switching to volleyball in Grade 8 where her team won the Division One Provincial Championship in her first year. The Ladder Founders' love of volleyball and the pursuit of making global impact in uplifting youth has bonded them in this mission for their non-profit foundation.
Stasia was brought up in a Chinese/British household where academics are always a top priority and had been taught to be powerful, mindful, and that the best example to lead is to serve. After High School, Stasia hopes to attend a top university to study finance and eventually obtain her Masters of Business Administration.
The Ladder Foundation has already created a program at the Calgary Food Bank, where the foundation are the sole donors and creators of the Birthday Bag for less fortunate children to have the opportunity to have a birthday party. The Ladder raises the founds and provides all the supplies; cake, candles, plates, party hats, balloons, party favors, and gifts in each bag. This has enhanced the Food Banks effort to provide an extra surprise for their families who come in and would otherwise not be in the position to provide a birthday celebration for their children.
In addition to this, Stasia has big dreams of giving educational and sport scholarship to youth whom where not as luck as she was in having opportunities to participate in extra curricular academia and physical activity. During her life Stasia has accessed invaluable experiences and knowledge and she wants to see underprivileged youth exposed to the same opportunity. With her own personal encounter with life's unfortunate circumstances and understanding the importance of education, it is her desire to take part and strive for a change. As a hopeful future scholarship recipient herself, she wants to give the same chance to others. Stasia believes education combined with sports will empower, uplift, and boost the mental health of the next generation and all generations after hers.
After years of contemplation and having the goal of launching a non-profit organization benefiting her community, The Ladder Society Enrichment Foundation was founded in the fall of 2024. The organization became a fully formed Not For Profit Organization with great support from fellow co-founders: Clementine Woolner, Danielle Li, Phoebe Woolner, Sophia Zhang, her community, family and friends. Their common goal is for global change creating equality and unity
